We’re Michael and Bethany Dienberg—a hospital-trained dentist and a “been-there” mom—bringing gentle, CO₂-laser tongue- and lip-tie care to families across the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, and beyond.
Our Story
We founded Otter Oral Care after living the struggle ourselves. With our first baby, every feeding meant choking and sleepless worry. Specialists chased reflux and allergy theories, but no one mentioned tongue-tie.
Not long after, Michael discovered—and released—his own severe tie in dental school, feeling instant relief he never knew was possible. Five years later our second child arrived; a quick hospital “snip” still left Bethany in pain and on restrictive diets. When our bonus baby was born, we partnered with a lactation consultant and chiropractor—only to find the area’s sole release specialist booked for weeks. Drawing on Michael’s hospital-surgical background and thousands of frenectomies, we completed the release ourselves and finally experienced peaceful, pain-free feeds.
Knowing other families were still up at 2 a.m. searching for answers inspired Otter Oral Care. Today, Michael’s surgical expertise and Bethany’s “we’ve-been-there” perspective guide infants, kids, and adults toward better feeding, speech, sleep, and confident smiles.
